Set within the mature, leafy suburbs to the south of Edinburgh city centre, The Royal Ettrick Hotel provides the perfect getaway from the bustle of the city whilst still being within walking of the Old Town.
This popular residential area of the city has housed some of its most famous inhabitants, past and present, including Harry Potter author J.K.Rowling.
Upon arrival at the hotel you will be greeted at reception by our friendly staff who will do their utmost to ensure your stay is relaxed and enjoyable.
Built in the 1860's as the grand home of a rich Edinburgh barrister, The Royal Ettrick remained a private residence until it was converted into a hotel during the 1940's. Extended in 2003 and undergoing refurbishment and extension in early 2008, the hotel has the modern conveniences guests have come to expect , whilst retaining the original character, charm and features of this beautiful building.

The Royal Ettrick Hotel also house s the International Bar, offering true Scottish colour and character with a traditional pub feel and broad range of regular customers and guests alike. The bar serves a wide selection of food and drink so you can be sure to find something new and enjoyable.
* In the summer, enjoy dining outside in the beer garden which is open for guests and non residents.
* A private car park is available to the rear of the hotel, although spaces are limited. |
