The Metropole Hotel, Sliema, Malta, is situated in the popular seaside residential town of Sliema, and is just 100 metres away from its famous seaside promenade, which extends for quite a few miles from St. Julians where the night life is lively, to Sliema harbour where the shopping is terrific.
All along there are several cafes, bars and restaurants as well as excellent swimming clubs. At night time especially, St. Julian's and Paceville come to life and offer all forms of entertainment including the now famous Dragonara international casino.
There is always something happening in the Maltese Islands. Events relating to the World of art, music, the performing arts, culture, sport and entertainment take place throughout the year, and the visitor will find that even though the Islands are a paradise for relaxation, there are a large number of things to do and enjoy while on holiday.
Going for a nice walk along the Sliema promenade is a must. The wide passage way makes it a pleasure to stroll and enjoy the magnificent views of the sea.
Further down the promenade, ferries can be found lined along the Sliema front. A ferry trip is a must do activity if you visit Malta during the summer months. These are available by day or by night.
Horse drawn carriages are another attraction which can be found. The owners/cab drivers will guide you through the best areas giving you a good narration.
In Sliema there are 5 Parish churches. Each Parish church celebrates its Patron Saint feast in a dedicated weekend in the summertime. They are enjoyable evenings where you can see the fireworks display on Saturday and the procession on Sunday. They are also a great opportunity to sample some Maltese food. All churches would be duly decorated for the feast. |

* Restaurant & Bar:
Le Soleil, the large buffet restaurant situated alongside the reception is adorned with attractive murals and wide French windows, a combination which create a bright cheery atmosphere. Outside the restaurant and on the other side of the reception desk is the lobby with seating around a fire place and a few stairs that lead up to Le Metro Bar. The Le Metro Bar is open all day during winter, from 10 am till late, and in the evening, during summer.
* Start your day with a hearty breakfast from the hotel's enriched continental buffet. Cooked breakfast is served on Sundays. Dinner comprises a 5 course menu starting with a selection from a salad table, soup & pasta, a choice from 3 main courses, including fish, meat and a vegetarian option, potatoes and vegetables. This is followed by a selection of mouth-watering desserts.
* Lounge:
On the first floor, there is a residents' lounge with TV. The room is well lit and has colourful sofas. It is an ideal room for reading and playing cards or board games. The room can be separated with a partition and the far end is often used as a meeting room.
* On the 6th floor there is a large all purpose room that is often used by special interest groups for their activities, be it games competitions, conferences or presentation purposes while the hotel will from time to time use it for special meal occasions and private functions.
* Leisure:
On the roof, there are 3 sun-decks and splash pool giving guests the chance to relax in comfort and get a wonderful tan while also enjoying a cool drink from the pool bar and a snack lunch from the barbeque kitchen, open all day during the summer and during the evenings in the peak season. Showering facilities and sun-loungers are provided. In the evenings, there is an open invitation to enjoy live entertainment from the staff under the starlit skies.
* Reception:
The hotel reception is the main hub of the Metropole Hotel, with friendly staff ready to go out of their way to make your holiday one to remember! Ask information about any event, how to plan your holiday or simply pass the time of day, the reception staff will always greet you with a smile on their faces and a warm hello. One can hire cars, bicycles, tours, grab a bus map, ask for indications to the nearest bus stop and request any hotel information you might need.
* Conferences:
The Metropole Hotel takes a professional approach to organizing budget conferences and meetings and boasts a manager dedicated to this task who is supported by a team of duty managers throughout any event.
* The main conference room is the Tower Suite on the 6th floor which is fully air-conditioned. It is well equipped and has black out facilities, it can be adapted to meet any requirements and has an adjoining pantry exclusively for the requirements of that meeting.
* Break out rooms are available and meals may either be taken in the same suite if numbers allow, the main restaurant which can be used privately at lunch times or in the Dingli Suite on the first floor.
* A wide range of events have been catered for from residential conferences with simultaneous translation to day meetings, training sessions, product launches, seminars and presentations. Equipment which is not held on the premises can be hired in. |

* The Metropole Hotel offers 160 bedrooms which are all en-suite and situated on 6 floors. Many of the rooms have balconies and those which overlook the main street are large and enjoy a side view of the sea. Others have smaller balconies while others still are inner looking and differ in size from single rooms to triple or quadruple ones. A suite is also available.
* The Metropole Hotel offers singles, twins, triples and quadruple rooms and a suite. They are divided into budget inland, budget balcony, standard inland, standard town view, standard balcony and club rooms.
* The hotel bedrooms have the following facilities: en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning/heating, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, hairdryer (most rooms). Television: In all rooms by satellite. Safety deposit boxes are available for rent from reception and are situated in the hotel lobby.
* Twin Standard Balcony Room:
Fairly large well equipped rooms which overlook a busy road & enjoy side views of Spinola Bay.
* Twin Budget Inland Room:
These come in various shapes and sizes, all have standard facilities, some larger with no view, and other some smaller with side sea views.
